James "Jimmy" D'Amico began his drum corps career with the Holy Name Cadets in 1949.

In 1955-1956 he played with Mighty St. Joe's of Newark and then became a featured soloist with the Hawthorne Caballeros from 1957-1961.

Through the years he also played soprano for Doremus, Ballentine, the Skyliners, Caballeros Alumni, Gafield Alumni, Nu Brass and the Skyliners Alumni.

He judged for All American, National and Eastern States associations.

Jimmy was Director of the Garfield Cadets from 1966-1969. He instructed and arranged for the Montville Boyscout Corps, St. Brendan's, St. Lucy's, Doremus, The Saints, The Hilltoppers, The Raiders, Ballentine, Garfield, Caballeros Alumni, Garfield Cadets Alumni and NuBrass.

He is a member of the World Drum Corps and New Jersey Hall of Fame.
