Jim Centtorino is a prolific composer and accomplished trumpet player. His formal studies in music began with with local piano, accordian and trumpet lessons and escalated to drum and bugle corps and various band activities through high school and college. While at Boston College, Jim starred as a feature trumpet soloist and was band president.
He was also the featured soloist for the Boston Crusaders and Rhode Island Matadors and was inducted into the Massachusetts and World Drum Corps Hall of Fame.
Jim holds a masters degree in Geology and Geophysics. He also hold a masters in trumpet and composition from The Boston Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Dr. Hugo F. Norden. Residing in Southern Californis, Jim often combines science, music and mathematics in his compsotional techniques. His debut release, Footsteps In The Sand, was a top selling album in 1991.
His solo debut, Ivory, is a compolation of original compositions. Other tiles include It's Chrismats Everywhwre, Portraits of Amaerica and Three Dreams. I addition to his musical accomplishments, Jim has also published a Physics study gudie for Cliffnotes, now in its 2nd printing.
